Widow of Khalil ullah, Mohallah Shah Hussaini, Nowshera Kalan:


REDA helped widow of Khalil ullah from Nowshera Kalan in reconstruction of her house. There were two rooms that were damaged by flood. REDA reused the scrap of damaged rooms for reconstruction and managed the reconstruct within a budget of Rs. 60,000/- only.

REDA took the initiative to reconstruct rooms, kitchens and/or toilets, as per requirement, for the misfortunate widows in flood affected areas of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. 33 Families were identified in Banda Shaikh Ismail, Shahi kullal, Nowshera Cantt, Nowshera Kalan, Sardaryab, Charsadda Khas and Mirza Dher. Theses reconstructions were funded and facilitated by REDA through donations of different philanthropists.

I have recently joined a Peshawar based NGO: "Research, Education and integrated Development Agency" (REDA) as Liaison Manager. We are working on its website, I will share it with my readers when it is launched. We are working on different socio-economic issues. In 2012, the first project that we want to take up is "Green Revolution 2012". This is a campaign for afforestation in Khyber PukhtunKhwa. The basic plan we have is to mobilize Government Schools students of KPK to actively participate in plantation. The idea is to get "every student plant a tree" and thus will get a fair amount of newly planted trees. We are looking for donors and volunteers who wish to contribute in this step towards a greener Pakistan. Donations could be in terms of money or saplings. We will highly appreciate if someone can share any social contacts that will be helpful in this regard. I will update regularly on the progress of this and other forthcoming campaigns.

The gruesome footage of Rangers killing an unarmed young boy was a real shock for me. The unarmed boy pleading for mercy, was shot dead by Rangers personnel at point blank. By watching the video, one can clearly see that the young boy posed no threat. There were 5 Ranger personnel in the video and the one who shot the poor boy seemed a bit over whelmed by the weapon he had and the uniform he was wearing. This is another incident after the Kharotabad killings, where Rangers killed 5 people. That case is still pending and now we have another one. 
Who gave the right to Rangers, Police or Army, to kill innocent Pakistanis in cold blood. Human rights are openly violated and there is no one who can stop them. There will be another enquiry, there will be more discussions on this. More TV reports and politicians condemning the mishap. But then nothing will be changed. Again we will hear same or worse stories. 
   
   

According to sources, Afridi’s disagreement with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over some issues resulted in his early retirement.

He said it was hard for him to play under a cricket board, which pays no respect to senior players.

“I cannot work with the people who find it difficult to tolerate statements in favour of cricket,” he stated, saying that the duty of a coach is to work for the welfare and in favour of team.

"It is nothing short of an hounour for me that Pakistan played world cup semifinal under my captaincy," he added.
